The Vontobel International Equity Active ETF
The portfolio is unconstrained by market-cap or sector allocations and emphasizes companies that the investment team believes can outgrow the broader market over time. VNIE does not seek to track an index, allowing the managers to build a high-conviction portfolio that reflects Vontobel’s best ideas across non-U.S. developed and emerging markets.
VNIE is designed for investors seeking a core international equity allocation with a disciplined approach to quality and downside management. Here's what makes it stand out:
1. Exposure to Global Industry Leaders: Many of the world’s most dominant firms—particularly in luxury goods, pharmaceuticals, and professional services—are located outside the U.S. VNIE gives U.S. investors exposure to these global franchises, many of which are less represented in traditional U.S.-centric portfolios.
2. Downside Risk Management: By focusing on companies with stable cash flows, strong margins, and high barriers to entry, VNIE aims to mitigate losses during market downturns while participating in long-term upside.
3. Portfolio Diversification: Adding international exposure can reduce home country bias, increase portfolio diversification, and help hedge currency and geopolitical risk—a valuable benefit in today’s unpredictable macro environment.
“We are proud of our robust capabilities in international investing, providing U.S. clients with diversification, which is all the more valuable in times of market volatility,” said David Souccar, Portfolio Manager. “Our distinct approach to quality gives investors exposure to attributes such as pricing power and barriers to entry—characteristics that can compound earnings over time and help manage downside risk.”
