How OAKM Works

OAKM is managed by Bill Nygren, Robert Bierig and Michael Nicolas – the same experienced team that manages the Oakmark Fund (OAKMX). The investment process involves thorough, bottom-up research spotlighting strong free cash flow, growing and reasonably predictable earnings, and shareholder-focused leadership.

Through this analysis, OAKM targets stocks trading at attractive discounts to Harris | Oakmark’s estimate of intrinsic value and strategically exits as prices approach their estimated worth, aiming to achieve durable, long-term gains.

Portfolio Highlights

  • Diversified Holdings: Typically 30–40 positions with no more than 25% exposure to one industry or 5% to one company at time of purchase.
  • Market-Cap Focus: Targets larger U.S. companies.

As of January 10, 2025, OAKM's top holdings include prominent names such as Citigroup, Deere & Co., Charles Schwab, General Motors, and Alphabet. The fund’s holdings are subject to change based on market dynamics.

OAKM has a net expense ratio of 0.59% following a fee waiver.

Why Consider OAKM?

For investors seeking exposure to quality U.S. large-cap stocks through a value-focused lens, OAKM delivers a compelling combination of expertise and opportunity.

It draws on Harris | Oakmark’s longstanding commitment to value investing while leveraging the structural strengths of an active ETF wrapper, such as transparency, intra-day liquidity and the potential for tax-efficient investing.

“We are excited to offer our value-based approach to long-term investing for clients who prefer the convenience of ETFs,” said Portfolio Manager Bill Nygren.

About Harris | Oakmark

Harris | Oakmark is a Chicago-based investment management firm founded in 1976 that serves as the adviser to the Funds. As a long-term value investor, the firm applies a consistent investment philosophy and a fundamentally driven research process to build and manage its Funds. Harris | Oakmark seeks to identify companies that are priced at a substantial discount to what they consider to be their underlying business value—and then they patiently wait for the gap between price and value to close. OAKM is the first ETF offered by Harris | Oakmark. The firm also manages U.S., international and global portfolios for institutional and high-net-worth investors nationwide.
