How the ETF Works

The Fund strategically invests in a diversified portfolio of 150–200 holdings, focusing primarily on bonds and other fixed income securities. At least 80% of its assets are allocated to bonds, including corporate, municipal, and government bonds. Corporate bonds take center stage, spanning fixed and floating rate, zero-coupon, and convertible options. To enhance diversification, the Fund also includes asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities, equity-linked notes (ELNs), and fixed income ETFs.

Designed to generate both income and long-term growth, the Fund seeks out undervalued opportunities with attractive return potential. It balances investment-grade bonds with high-yield options to capture a wide range of market opportunities. Active management ensures the portfolio remains responsive to shifts in market conditions, guided by insights into economic trends like inflation, interest rates, and global growth.

For added flexibility, up to 20% of the Fund’s assets can be allocated to equities, primarily preferred stocks, to enhance income potential. The Fund also uses tools like options and swaps to manage risk and capture additional returns. With a disciplined, research-driven approach, the Fund aims to deliver consistent performance while adapting to market dynamics.

Why Investors Should Consider BNDS

BNDS offers a compelling opportunity for income-focused investors. The fund’s diversified exposure to high-yield fixed-income securities provides steady income, while its active management strategy seeks to optimize returns by navigating interest rate, credit, and liquidity risks. The inclusion of an option-writing strategy further enhances yield potential, providing an added layer of income generation.

“There continue to be opportunities to find both alpha and compelling income in the fixed-income markets. The key, however, is in knowing where to look,” said Jay Hatfield, founder and portfolio manager at ICA. “We believe active management is essential for successful income investing. Through vigilant risk management, and by focusing on interest rate, credit, and call risks, BNDS is poised to benefit from our active management process.”
