U.S. Weekly ETF Industry Update

The U.S. ETF market saw another active week as issuers rolled out new products, filed ambitious strategies, and celebrated key milestones.

Crypto hybrids, leveraged single-stock funds, and tax-aware bond ETFs highlighted the innovation driving the space.

Here are the key ETF developments from August 11 to August 15, 2025.

New Launches Stir the Market

Leverage Shares dominated the headlines with two sets of products. The first brought three new 2x single-stock ETFs to market, tied to Circle (CRCG), WeBull (BULG), and CoreWeave (CRWG). Each fund offers 200 percent daily exposure and adds to the firm’s growing list of high-octane vehicles.

The second launch introduced five capped accelerated ETFs, designed to capture up to 200 percent monthly upside (subject to a cap) with full downside risk. These include COIO for Coinbase, MSOO for MicroStrategy, NVDO for NVIDIA, PLOO for Palantir, and TSLO for Tesla.

Crypto also found the spotlight. REX Shares and Tuttle Capital teamed up to launch CCUP, the T-REX 2X Long Circle ETF, offering leveraged exposure to Circle just as stablecoin regulation under the GENIUS Act takes hold.

Fixed income investors saw fresh choices too.

F/m Investments introduced two first-of-their-kind “Compoundr” ETFs, CPHY and CPAG, built to reduce dividend tax drag by rotating holdings before ex-dividend dates. Meanwhile, Weitz Investment Management entered the ETF market with its debut product, the Weitz Core Plus Bond ETF (WCPB), an active multi-sector bond strategy.

On the multi-asset side, Harbor Capital launched HOLD, the Harbor Alpha Layering ETF, which combines 75 percent S&P 500 equity exposure with 75 percent managed futures for about 150 percent total exposure.

The aim is to capture equity growth while using trend-following futures to help mitigate drawdowns. Neuberger Berman rounded out the week with NEMD, an actively managed emerging markets debt ETF that invests in hard-currency bonds across sovereign, corporate, and supranational issuers.

A Wave of New Filings

Filings were just as lively as launches. Defiance made headlines with plans for the “Hot Sauce” ETF, a triple-leveraged daily play on high-volatility retail favorites. The issuer also proposed several 2x single-stock ETFs, along with a “Retail Kings” fund that would track sentiment-driven stocks popular with individual traders.

Leverage Shares was back in the news with filings for more 2x daily products tied to companies like Lululemon, CRISPR, Teradyne, and Intuitive Surgical. REX Shares kept the momentum with its own batch of 2x ETFs on names such as StubHub, MP Materials, Sarepta, Cipher Mining, and QuantumScape.

Crypto strategies were front and center as well. NEOS filed for an Ethereum High Income ETF, which blends indirect Ether exposure with an options strategy designed to generate yield. VistaShares proposed a full suite of “BitBonds” ETFs, each pairing Treasuries of different maturities with a slice of Bitcoin ETP exposure through covered calls.

Traditional equity and dividend funds were also in the pipeline.

AllianceBernstein filed for an active U.S. equity strategy, Gabelli targeted dividend-paying small and mid caps with the Keeley Dividend ETF, and Akre Capital unveiled plans for a concentrated long-term growth fund.

Virtus submitted multiple AI-driven strategies across U.S. small caps, international small caps, emerging markets, and dividend-focused equities.

iShares and WisdomTree added more filings ranging from large-cap equity and options income funds to balanced strategies combining crypto, gold, and inflation-linked bonds.

Finally, Grayscale filed to convert its Dogecoin Trust into a spot ETF with ticker GDOG. The trust currently holds around 2.5 million dollars, and market watchers see strong odds that approval will come in 2025.

Industry Milestones

Beyond launches and filings, issuers hit important milestones.

Bitwise Asset Management crossed 15 billion dollars in assets under management across more than 40 products, boosted by regulatory clarity and growing institutional crypto demand. Tradr ETFs, which launched in 2024, surpassed 1 billion dollars in assets in just over a year thanks to strong demand for its leveraged and inverse single-stock products.

Meanwhile, traditional finance edged closer to digital assets. Citigroup confirmed it is exploring stablecoin and crypto ETF custody, including the possibility of holding Treasuries that back stablecoins and offering tokenized dollar transfers.
